WebOct 17, 2012 · Are you familiar with the new Dometics that have no adjustments except moving the thermistor up and down. Moving the thermistor up and down on my Dometic does nothing to change the temperature and it holds a steady 40 deg. F.. In 90 deg. + it will creep up an additonal degree or two. WebJul 25, 2013 · Specifically, both fixes allow you to lower the temp inside the fridge beyond the original settings. The first fix, called Snip-The-Tip, required removing the end of the original thermistor and then attaching a new adjustable thermistor. This looked appealing at first, but I wanted something less “invasive”. WebRobert, thanks for your reply. So if I use an original thermistor I have to remove the fridge, right? Don't have anyone to help me get this out of the cabinet. That's another reason why the snip the tip is the way I'm leaning. . But the ohms showed ok.. idk.. don't want to replace a 40 dollar part and have the circuit board be the problem. .
WebAug 11, 2012 · Adding a potentiometer in series on one of the wires to the thermistor, will accomplish the same end. A 0-1K ohms would do the deed, possibly even a 0-500 ohms pot would provide a finer adjustment. I installed a 0-10K pot and it is a bit touchy.
WebJul 3, 2024 · If you want to test by making it go into constant cool all you need to do is to disconnect the thermistor and it will default to continuous cool mode thinking that the thermistor has failed.
