If you want to duplicate with detailing and with overrides you would simply Duplicate as a Dependent and then make your view independent.

To be honest, I'd forgotten the Linework tool could do this and have been using Override Graphic Display Element with changed Projection Lines and almost full transparency on beams or rooflights or anything I want to show in dotted lines in plan.
